I make compelling and emotionally-charged imagery for stories with gravity. I like playing with deep shadows, textures and symbolic distortion to communicate challenging subjects with clarity and resonance.

Editorial Illustrations

I've created hundreds of editorial illustrations for Truthout, a non-profit news site. The work often included sensitive subject matter, rapid turn-arounds and in-depth editorial collaboration to meet the tonal and narrative needs of each story. Also: a lot of portraiture of politicos, whose faces I'm sparing us from in this assortment.

Books

Media Control (2015)

I was approached by author Robert E. Gutsche, Jr. to design a cover and interior illustrations for his book, Media Control: News as an Institution of Power and Social Control. My objective with each illustration was to mash up two or more concepts relating to media and militarization.
